Ford rationalised the 1600cc Capri range for 1983 concentrating production on the LS trim pack, which had effectively replaced the S and would form the basis for the later Laser. Equipment included an internally adjustable drivers door mirror, sunroof, rear wash wipe, steel sports wheels and and a stereo radio cassette.
This two owner example was purchased by the recently deceased owner during July 1986 and is described as having been "his pride and joy" by his relatives. Always garaged, it displays only 72036 miles on the odometer which is supported by a current MOT (expiring on the 27th June 2007) and a number of expired MOT certificates dating back to 1998. The checked fabric interior appears to be in good condition, although the rear parcel shelf has been replaced by a home made example. A quantity of receipts for work carried out on the car this decade are included as are the bright wheel trim rings and we are told that it was started regularly.
